Tricks seniors play at peripheries ..
I have come across many young baby doctors in peripheries who ask same questions and have same problems with seniors in peripheries ,,, some of them are below
1. SMO ,WSMO APMO at peripheries at all levels tell their junior doctors that they are 18 ,19 scale or as they are incharge (incase of RHCs) so they are exempted from emergency duties or medicolegal cases..... Well that is totally false.whether it is MO,WMO or SMOs,SWMOs or APMO or APWMOs they are all general cadre doctors.There is no difference in doing duties between them.Difference come when cadre changes ...like if someone is a specialist and i mean a real specialist with a specialized degree then he has specific duty according to its specialty .Otherwise apart from specialists or MS,AMS or DMS all have to perform same duties .A new MO can do OPD duty and an APMO can do emergency duties.There is legally no difference in job description.They just try to manipulate you knowing that you came from teaching hospitals and you do not know this.
2.They make you do opposite gender mlcs or postmortems.Especially they ask females to perform mlcs and postmortems of males.This is strictly forbidden.It is only allowed if that medical center does not have a male doctor appointed .Otherwise if any male doctor is available ,whether he is on duty or not,it is his responsibility to perform MLC and Postmortems on male and vice versa.This is in duty description and legally binding.You can simply refuse to perform mlcs and postmortems on opposite gender and they can do nothing about it except to threat you verbally or by sending fake explanation letters without any dispatch numbers.You can say no and let the inquiry be set.Nothing will happen to you.
3. MS or EDO send you fake explanation letters  .Yes that happens too.Those letters have no entry in dispatch registers .so if you feel that some one is asking you do illegal work and they explanation is fake then either ignore it or write an application along with that explanation letter and and you answer ,make aphotocopy and post it to Secretary health and take that letter to EDO or DC whoever is immediate incharge or even to secretary admin at lahore.
4. If they are making you do their duties you can simply get absent from that duty and when explanation letter arrives (which never do if its your senior fault ) then you can simply give written reply that your senior is making you illegally do his or her duties.
5.Never get incharge of anything.This is their trick to blackmail you by putting corruption charges on you later on.refuse the charge or make sure every bill or book is countersigned by MS.
Remember in peripheries you are chickens chased by wolves  .Be confident and be straight.If anyone misbehave with you then return the favor on spot. Its a jungle out there.Follow jungle rules

Show cause notices & dealing with Administration of BHU/RHC/THQ/DHQ Many of new doctors are worried about getting a show cause notice.What is a show cause notice? It is a simple letter to you from the administration of a hospital asking you to explain your particular action.And 99% of the time it goes to cold storage after ur response.Mostly they issue such notice to threat the young doctor as you get panic after a showcause notice. Remember that If you have not received a Show cause notice then it means you are working correctly and verbal threats or orders of your superior are just baseless threats.Never respond to a verbal order if you think that it is not fair.
